Welcome to the Rhac-Shack!!!

I have been keeping and breeding various reptiles for 20 years. I started keeping the Rhacodactylus species around 12 years ago. At the moment I currently keep 5 species of Rhacodactylus which are R. ciliatus, R. auriculatus, R. chahoua, R. sarasinorum and R. leachianus leachianus, and R. leachianus henkeli. Out of the 5 species I keep I have successfully bred 4 of them. Unfortunately my pair of Grand Terre Leachianus are incompatable, so I am hoping to obtain another female in the future, the R. leachianus is only a very young female.

All of the geckos are selected for their good natures, excellent colours and quality. As I am quite a small breeder, all of my geckos are given one on one attention on a daily basis and only geckos of a suitable size and weight are put into the breeding programmes. Any geckos that are not target weight for breeding are kept out of the breeding programmes until they reach optimum weight. Some geckos are simply not suitable as breeders but these are given the same care and attention as the breeders. All of the geckos get the best start in life as they are fed on cockroaches/crickets dusted with vitamins as well as the new Repashy Super Food which they love. With the crested gecko in particular, I am concentrating on breeding for different morphs and colours, and do sometimes have youngsters and surplus adult geckos for sale which would be available to new loving homes, please see the available page for more details. Here at the Rhac-Shack I  believe in breeding for quality, not quantity.

This website has been compiled from my experiences in keeping and breeding reptiles over the years, and in particular the Rhacodactylus species. I hope you enjoy looking and maybe learning something too, the site will hopefully appeal to newcomers as well as the more experienced reptile keeper

As I have kept and bred a variety of reptiles, (although am now concentrating on the Rhacodactylus species) I feel qualified enough to be able to give advice on all aspects of the care of these geckos.
