This is Lucerne, who was originally from USA, I believe he was bred by Dragons Den. He is a stunning blonde harlequin. I have had Lucerne for a few years now and he has sired lots of youngsters, nearly all who are harlequins like him. I have put two pictures of him up - the first is his fired down colour and the second pic he is nearly fired up - this pic was taken in the dark hence his pupils look HUGE!!!
Barley is a stunning cream flame female with Dalmatian spots. She was bred by a good friend of mine and this is her first year of breeding. I have paired her with my experienced male Lucerne and we hope for some interesting babies from this pairing.
Peanut is a gorgeous tiger girl who was one of of my first home bred cresties which I produced in 2001. She is an experienced breeder and produced stunning red harlequins and flames with Lucerne last year. I have repeated the mating this year in the hopes that the babies will be similar.
Spice who at 14 years of age is the oldest crested gecko I own. She is a patternless yellow/buckskin. Spice is a big girl who weighs almost 60g without a tail. She has been paired up with Kane every year, but this year 2009 she is being put with Lucerne, as she is an F1 which means she is very closely related to the wild crested geckos. I wanted to add some new blood into some of my breeding projects.
Cactus is my beautiful furry flame boy, he might even be classed as a crowned by some people. I bought him from a pet store in 2004 as a juvenile and had no indication then that he would be so stunning. He produces babies with large heads like his so I have paired him this year with Ginger who also has an amazing head stucture - I hope that the pairing will result in crowned babies.
Meet Ginger, Cactus's girl for this season, I am very hopeful that these two will produce some crowned offspring. They both have partial pinstriping so you never know I may even get some pinstripe babies!!!
This is Adonis, my creamsicle male. This is his second breeding season - last year he was paired with a couple of different females so I am trying him with Snowdrop this year.. Hopefully some creams or creamsicles will be produced this year.
Snowdrop is a buckskin female who fires up almost white. She is a very large gecko who has a gorgeous temperament. She is paired with Adonis this year so I hope to get some interesting youngsters from them.
Parsley is a home bred 98% pinstripe with beautiful white pins. Lucerne and Turnip are his parents. Last year he had a successful year of breeding producing some stunning yellow partial pinstripes of which I have held a few back for myself. This year I have paired him up with two new females to see what he produces.
This is Saffron - she is a stunning orangey yellow girl. She was bred by a good friend of mine and has a lovely head structure. Last year she produced a lot of tigers when paired with Adonis so this year I wanted to see if I could produce any pins from her when bred with Parsley.
Daffodil is a lovely girl who was again bred by a very good friend of ours. Daffodil had a good year of breeding last year producing some stunning red harlequins and flames with Lucerne - this year I have paired her with Lucerne's son Parsley to see if I can produce some red pinstripes - I am looking forward to seeing the results!!!
Meet Lucifer my AMAZING 100% pinstripe boy who was purchased last year, he was bred by The Urban Gecko in Canada and imported across to a shop where I bought him. He is unbelievable I am thrilled to include him in my breeding plans this year. He has been paired with a few of the more experienced females who should show him the ropes! I hope this year to be producing my first 100% pins - watch this space !!!
This is Cherry a gorgeous homebred red/orange female. She was produced from Kane and Spice which is really suprising as they are both buckskins. I hope that by putting her with Lucifer we will get red pinstripes which would be amazing.
Meet Willow she was home bred and is absolutely stunning, her sire is Lucerne and her dam is Peanut. She is a creamsicle but I think her colour is like a fruit salad sweet. I am very excited to see what this pair will produce, In theory some 'fruit salad' coloured pinstripes would be so beautiful but I will have to wait and see!
Turnip is a 5 year old female which I bought from a shop some years ago .Some people may think she is ugly, but she is so sweet tempered and is actually mother of Sage and Parsley who are both amazing looking. On the picture below you can see her partial pinning which she passed on to some of her offspring.
This next picture is still Turnip but in her typical sleeping pose - she looks so funny sat like this.
The next male I dont have a picture for at present - he is a huge buckskin male with the blushing trait. He is paired this year with Bracken but every other year I have had him paired with Spice and they have produced reds so we are hoping this time he will produce some stunning red dalmatians!
Bracken is a female who was bred by a friend of mine - she is such a big girl for her age. She is around 15 months and weighs a hefty 50 grams! She is a stunning buckskin dalmatian with white portholes down her sides. I hope that breeding her to Kane will produce some stunning dalmatian babies.
This is Basil, who with the female below produced some nice youngsters last year (2008) some of which are showing a nice red spots like their dad.
Basil's lady is Pepper, she is a big chunky female.
I do have some crested geckos which are not quite up to breeding weight at the moment so they will be paired up later in the season. One of the geckos not being paired up yet is Sage - she recently had a scuffle with another female so she is having a rest before breeding season starts. Sage is Parsleys clutchmate, and is a beautiful looking extreme harlequin female, she has a lot of pattern on her back legs as well as partial pinstriping. She was bred last year for the first time and produced some stunning blonde harlequin and pinstripe youngsters.
I am very sad to inform everyone that I lost Sage on the 5/3/09. She passed away in an operation to investigate an internal lump which proved to be many abcesses which would have eventually caused major problems so I took the decision to let her go. She was a very special girl and will be sadly missed by me R.I.P. Sage xxx
Gargoyle Geckos
This is Jasper my male breeder, the first pic is of him during the day. This pic shows the 'bumps' on his head very well.
This is of Jasper on a night (these pics look as though they should be the other way round, as the Rhacs usually get darker on a night, when fired up)
These are 3 of our females.
From left to right, Sapphire, Onyx and her mam Topaz.
And last but not least is Crystal, who is also home bred and is a yellow/orange marbled (reticulated).
